HOURS OF OPERATION - SAT. 9 AM - 2 PM and WEDS. 1:30 - 4 PM. For Petersham residents with vehicle sticker. Trash disposal, recyclables, and metals. TRANSFER STATION STICKERS EXPIRE 9-30-2024 Please note the old yellow motor vehicle sticker will not be valid after September 30, 2024. The Petersham Selectboard has voted to authorize the sale of new transfer station stickers beginning September 1, 2024. The cost is $25.00 per household, cash or check, made out to Town of Petersham (1 or 2 stickers same price). Stickers can be purchased at the Selectboard office in the Town Office Building, or by mail by filling out an application form and sending it in with a $25 check payable to the "Town of Petersham" along with a self addressed stamped return envelope. Transfer Station bags are available for sale (ten bags for $20) in the Town Administrator's office, 3 South Main Street, the Petersham Package Store, and the Petersham Memorial Library. ACCEPTED ITEMS: Books, Bicycles, Button Batteries, Cell Phones & Small Tablets, CFL Light Bulbs, Clothing, Computers & Home Electronics, Exercise Equipment, Eyeglasses, Fashion Accessories (hats - belts - backpacks - handbags), Footwear/Shoes, Furniture, Grill/Lawn Mower, Home Medical Equipment, Household Goods (dishware - lamps - decor), Large Appliances (aka White Goods), Linens (bedding - towels - curtains - table linens), Mattresses & Box Springs, Pallets, Pillows & Plush Toys, Propane Tanks (1 lb), Propane Tanks (20 lb), Rechargeable Batteries, Scrap Metal, Small Appliances, Sports Equipment, String Lights, Styrofoam (Packaging Blocks), Toys, TVs, ADDITIONAL CHARGES APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
SWAP SHOP: Swap Shop (open year-round during transfer station hours): Free give/take of reusable, good quality items, home goods, and furnishings in working condition. (No CD's/VHS tapes, please) Example: Books, furniture, housewares, medical equipment, small working appliances, toys, anything usable and in good shape.
