Cultural Council
The Massachusetts Cultural Council Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation supporting community-based projects in the arts, humanities, and sciences annually.
Administered by municipally appointed volunteers, the Local Cultural Council awards grants to cultural programs in the community. These include school field trips, after school programs, concerts, festivals, lectures, theater, dance, music, and film. LCC projects take place in schools, community centers, libraries, elder care facilities, town halls, parks, and wherever communities come together. The deadline for grant applications is October 15 each year; applications and guidelines can be found on the MCC website at https://www.mass-culture.org/Petersham
Council members are appointed for a 3-yeaar term and can be re-appointed for a second term if desired. Please contact Jane at [email protected]
978-790-7107 if you are interested. We welcome and encourage new members at any time. Most activity happens during the fall months when we review and approve grants.
