Selectboard to Meet on Extension of Proposal Deadline under All-Options RFP for Nichewaug Inn & Academy Property
The Petersham Selectboard has scheduled a special meeting of the Selectboard for Friday, January 19th, at 9 AM to discuss, review, and vote on extending the deadline for proposals under the All-Options Request For Proposals (RFP) for the Nichewaug Inn & Academy property. All interested parties will be notified of any new proposal deadline and the new proposal deadline will be posted on the Town’s website.

The Town of Petersham requests proposals to purchase or acquire the Nichewaug Inn and Academy Property located at 25 Common Street on the historic Common in Petersham, Massachusetts. NICHEWAUG - SECOND PUBLIC INPUT MEETING
The Town of Petersham will hold the second public information and input meeting with the town’s planning consultant, Ted Carman from Concord Square Planning & Development, regarding the Nichewaug Inn property on Monday, May 23rd, at 7 pm. The agenda for this second meeting, to be
held at the lower level of the Petersham Town Hall, will be for Mr. Carman to present a progress report on the information gathered so far and to solicit input on a number of possible options to be evaluated in more depth. These options will differ on how to address the possible redevelopment of the Nichewaug Inn and Academy property. The schedule calls for two additional public information and input meetings at various stages of the planning process over the next four months. Notes from meetings held by the consultant on May 6 th with various town committees, abutters and other interested residents are posted on the ‘Nichewaug Property’ page under the ‘Town Business’ tab of the Town’s website, http://www.townofpetersham.org/. Also posted there are the notes and the presentation from the first public input meeting held on April 13 th . Concord Square Planning & Development is working on developing several options for the town-owned Nichewaug Inn property for town residents to consider and evaluate. The Town of Petersham has hired a consultant to help the town develop a plan for the future of the Nichewaug property. The residents of Petersham are a very important part of the information gathering process. PUBLIC INPUT MEETING - APRIL 13, 2016
The Petersham will hold a public information meeting on Wednesday, April 13th, at 6 pm at the Petersham Town Hall, lower level, 1 South Main Street, with the newly-hired planning consultant Ted Carman from Concord Square Planning & Development Inc. (http://www.concordsqdev.com/) and other members of the consulting team. The agenda for this initial meeting will be for Mr. Carman to introduce the team and to hear from town residents about the history of past efforts to redevelop the long-vacant Nichewaug Inn and Academy property and to understand their concerns, thoughts, and hopes for the property. A schedule for the planning process over the next six months will be proposed and discussed.
The town’s original RFP seeking a planning consultant and Concord Square’s proposal in response can be found below. Concord Square will be developing viable options for the town-owned Nichewaug Inn property for the town to consider and evaluate. All interested Petersham residents are strongly encouraged to attend and actively participate in the planning process.
